Citaza 100 mg Injection

Citaza 100 mg Injection is used when the adults are diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome, abbreviated for MDS and Acute Myeloid Leukemia or AML. But it is only used when the individual is not eligible for stem cell transplant. 

In case of Myelodysplastic Syndrome or MDS, the bone marrow is unable to produce any healthy blood cells as a result of the lack of its function. Whereas in Acute Myeloid Leukemia or AML, the individual is suffering from bone marrow cancer. It is caused due to the incompletely formed blood cells that were released into the bloodstream.

Uses 

  • The Citaza 100mg Injection is used in the treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukemia in those patients who have 20-30% blasts and are not eligible for the Haemopoietic stem cell transplant.
  • Additionally, it is used for the patients with intermediate-2 and high-risk Myelodysplastic Syndrome.

Common Side Effects

  • Nausea
  • Tiredness
  • Skin reactions like redness and pain at the site of injection
  • Decreased appetite
  • Sore nose and throat
